Save Money When Traveling To NYC. Stay In Jersey!
The Money Kings like to pass along good money savings ideas on travel whenever we can. What’s the use of having all your money, if you don’t splurge a little while and take a trip to see the world a bit?
For your consideration: Save Money When Traveling To NYC. Stay In Jersey!
Let’s get this straight. If you’re going to New York City, you’re going to spend money. Nothing is “cheap” in this city. You start with expensive and then move down to different levels of “not-so-expensive”. That’s about it.
One thing you can do, if you plan on visiting Manhattan, is consider staying in New Jersey. One particular hotel you should consider is the Sheraton Suites On The Hudson in Weehawken, NJ.
The rooms in this hotel are massive in comparison to those in midtown Manhattan. The neighborhood is safe and friendly as well. You’ll pay virtually the same rate for them as you would for a 4-star room in the city. You’ll get free parking here, however. You’ll have unlimited in-out privileges as well! (Yeah, if you didn’t know, if you bring a car to a hotel in NYC most likely you’ll be able to park for about $50 per day, but you won’t be able to move your car without paying the fee each time.)
In Weehawken, you’ll also get a stunning view of the city skyline. You’ll also be able to walk directly from the hotel to the New York Waterway ferry line, because the Port Lincoln terminal is right outside the door. You’ll be able to buy ferry tickets in the hotel. If the port is closed for the weekend, the hotel will shuttle you up to the nearest terminal for free, and will pick you up when you get back. You’ll also be able to use the Waterway’s free bus system through the whole of Manhattan as well with the price of each ticket!! The ferry drops you off at 39th street, and the bus will have in on Broadway in 5 minutes. If you’re great shape, you can walk it in about 20 minutes.
For the price you pay (around $200 per night online) and the access to cheap transportation options, it’s really crazy not to try the Sheraton in Weehawken. The Lincoln tunnel is only a mile from this hotel, if you get the itch to drive downtown. Just remember to stay away from rush hour!
Have A Great Night’s Rest.
