For your consideration: Cold Weather. China Snowstorms. Save Money With Winterizing Tips For Your House.
In a lot of places on Earth it gets really, really, really cold for about four months of the year. Being warm-blooded creatures, we need heat. For The Money Kings, this can only mean two things: 1) Energy consumption, and 2) Money loss.
While the lack of snow in New York is currently at a 75 year record, right now, in China, snowstorms are hitting the nation harder than anyone can remember from almost 50 years ago!
The entire world is interested in saving energy. We’re all green all of a sudden. The Money Kings, among many others, don’t know when it became fashionable to waste money. We’re glad, however, that those days are over. You remember those days . . . Days when people would run the air conditioner in their house with all the windows open, or even better, during the winter! We could go on and on.
In China, the China Meteorological Association is predicting snowy and cold weather for the next three days. According to news reports, this weather is really disrupting their lifestyle. We thought it would be a good idea for all of us, Chinese or not, to review what we can all do better in order to keep our homes warm on the cheap.
1. Open your window shades during the day time when you’re away. If there’s plenty of sunshine, you’ll get plenty of free heat!
2. Wrap your hot water pipes in insulation.
3. If you have an all glass front door facing southern sun exposure, leave it open during the day. More free heat!
4. If you have high ceilings, install ceiling fans to circulate all the hot air at the top of your rooms down to you. All of your heat rises remember.
5. Wear more clothes at home. Turn your thermostat down.
6. After cooking in your oven, turn off the burners, and leave the door open. Let the heat from the oven escape into your house.
7. Keep doors and vents closed in rooms you don’t use.
8. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR KIDS. Just because you’re doing all this work to save energy doesn’t mean your kids are . . . Make sure they’re not leaving doors open or turning the thermostat up behind your back
Good luck out there, and in your house.
